Why I Combine Skating and Massage: The Mind-Body Edge for Skaters and Athletes

As an adult figure skater and licensed massage therapist, I see how deeply movement and healing are connected. Whether it’s an old injury, nervous system overload, or the emotional weight of returning to a sport you love — your body remembers everything.
My passion for bodywork actually began when I was a young competitive skater. Even as a kid, I was lucky to have access to massage therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic care, and physical therapy. I used these tools not only to stay out of pain but to optimize how my body moved and performed on the ice. I fell in love with the healing process early — and became fascinated by the body’s ability to repair, adapt, and grow. That curiosity never left me. It's one of the biggest reasons I became a massage therapist.
That’s why I don’t separate skating from healing. Skating helps you reconnect with your strength and joy. Massage and energy work help you restore balance and resilience so you can keep showing up, both on the ice and in life.
I’ve worked with skaters who came in for a lesson and ended up realizing they needed bodywork. I’ve also had massage clients who lit up at the idea of moving more and taking a lesson. The two aren't separate. They feed each other.
At Alchemy by Stars, you can choose one service or both — and either way, you’re supported as a whole person, not just a muscle or a move.
